ANSWERS, NEWS. Seriously, they are in our local news recently:

1.) Answer: B. Councilor Joel “Jiji” G. Aguilar accidentally caused the death of a three-year old girl at Brgy. III, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro last January 4, 2009. The toddler who was playing near Aguilar’s black Pajero when accidentally rolled over by the car when the latter was about to leave his friend’s place. The local legislator immediately submitted himself to police authorities for investigation. No charges were filed against him so far. The case, according to reliable sources, was amicably settled. The child expired at around 8 pm of the same day while being treated in a nearby hospital. The incident (or accident) took place at around 6 in the afternoon.

2.) Answer: C. Police Chief Inspector Joel Santos-Estaris, Chief of San Jose Municipal Police Station reported last January 1, 2009 about a Homicide and Double Frustrated Homicide Case in Brgy. Magbay, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. The victims were identified as Amado Magbanua, Sr., 63; and his son Amado, Jr, 27. According to said PNP report, the suspect is a resident named Ronald Dela Cruz. Based on Estaris’ account, at the height of their (Magbanuas and Dela Cruz) drinking bout there came a heated argument between Dela Cruz and Amado Jr. which prompted the older Magbanua to pacify the two. However, Dela Cruz stabbed Magbanua, Sr. with a bolo hitting his left chest. The younger Magbanua tried to rescue his father but the suspect also wielded his bolo and hit Amado Jr. in the abdomen. Dela Cruz immediately fled with his bolo while the victims were rushed to Zapanta Hospital where Amado, Sr. was declared dead on arrival. This became the first case on the station’s blotter for 2009.

In the media statement, the local Communist group condemned alleged extra judicial killings perpetrated last year by government forces in the whole island of Mindoro. According to the document forwarded to DZVT early this week, necessary actions will be taken by the “revolutionary” forces to punish the perpetrators.
