Taon ng Bokasyon
Saint Joseph College Seminary (SJCS) is the diocesan seminary of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. It actually opened its doors for the first batch of seminarians in June 1984 but was formally inaugurated on July 15, 1984 - a year after the creation of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Mindoro (1983). Today, Saint Joseph College Seminary continues to form seminarians and work towards “one true Christian Community, united in worship, service and witness of Christ”. Our vicariate, in line with the Silver Jubilee of the SJCS, proclaimed June 2008 to July 2009 as Year of the Vocation. Occidental Mindoro seminarians need your support and prayers...
At habang ipinapaskel ko ito, may isinasagawang Convention ng mga seminarista at ilang “kandidato” na nagsimula noong isang araw at matatapos bukas, ika-31 ng Disyembre 2008.
A key feature of the celebration will be the promotion of the priesthood and religious life with the hope that a considerable number of youth from Occidental Mindoro will reflect more deeply on these vocations as life choices. At hindi lang sila, tayo rin. Our faith calls on each and every Christian to fulfill our vocation as asked of us in our baptismal promise. Let us embrace this responsibility so that the words of Jesus will ring true in our lives: "You will be My Witnesses" (Acts 1:8).
Sabi nga ni Catherine of Siena : "If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!"
